About Rozum

The Freds

This branch of the Rozums is a group of people who, for some strange reason, like the name "Fred". Following World War I, Frederick Rozum left his abode near Pilsen, Czech Republic (although at the time it was called Austria-Hungary) for the shores of America. He begat a Fred, who then didn't begat a Fred. Fortunately, the begot non-Fred promptly begat another Fred. Yes, it's Fred all over!

Anyway, according to a Czech/English dictionary I used, Rozum means:

                     rozum = brains (pl)
                     rozum = head
                     rozum = intelligence
                     rozum = intellect
                     rozum = reason
                     rozum = wisdom
                     rozum = wittiness
                     rozum (intelligence) = understanding

Naturally, these lofty definitions make it difficult to understand the Fred bit.
